Sadie was taken to the shelter by her
owner. He said they had too many dogs and Sadie was the one they chose to do
away with. She was adopted by another family ane returned after about 10 days
stating she wasn't a good fit for their home. So when the original family
found out she was back at the shelter they came and adopted her back. They had
her less than a week and returned her because the wife said Sadie
could not
stay. When she was returned to the shelter the third time she would jump on the
gates and bark when people walked by. This caused the shelter director to label
her as "aggressive and non-adoptable". She she was placed in the back to be euthanized. Poor baby was confused and afraid
Luckily Sadie had a guardian angel whose name was Gary. Gary worked at the
shelter and all during Sadie's ordeal Gary was the only constant friend she had.
She allowed him to pet her and she watched him all the time. Gary fell in love
with her. Gary and I contacted Saint rescue but no rescue was able to take her.
He said he could not allow her to be euthanized. Gary brought her home during
the evenings and weekends to see if she would be OK with our newfs.
Needless to say she fit well in with our crew and on June 13, 2005 Sadie became
ours.
First thing on the list was to get her spay and vaccinations. With some good food and lots of love Sadie has become a wonderful member of our family. She is now a certified therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International. She is still Gary's shadow and best friend.
